12th century, prophecy of St. Hildegard: “…Before the comet arrives, many nations, except the good ones, will be plagued by poverty and famine…”
Thirteenth century prophecy of John of Vatiguerro: “…there will be a surprising and cruel famine that will be so great and of such magnitude throughout the universe, and especially in the regions of the West, that since the beginning of the world there has never been such a famine…”
Prophecy of the 17th century, Ven. Bartholomew Holzhauser: “…The fifth period of the Church, which began around 1520… Jesus Christ will purify His people by means of cruel wars, famines, scourges, epidemics, and other terrible calamities…. It is a time of defections, calamities, and extermination. Those Christians who survive the sword, scourges and famine will be few…”
18th century, prophecy of the monk Basil of Kronstadt, St. Petersburg: “…When the bishop of Rome assumes two names [the reference would seem to be to John Paul I] an empire will be close to collapse: that of blasphemy [Soviet Union; US or Europe]. But it would be folly to rejoice with joy, for it will not be the end but the beginning of sorrows: the dark specter of misery will swirl in the sky like a cloud gone mad and cast a shadow over many peoples. There will be a lack of bread even in rich countries…”
Note: Pope John Paul I and Pope John Paul II are the only pontiffs in history to have assumed two names. They were both elected in 1978. John Paul I, elected on August 26, lasted in office only 33 days.
Nineteenth-century prophecy, the Estatica of Tours: “…Before the war breaks out again, food will be scarce and very expensive. There will be little work for workers, and fathers will hear their children weep for hunger…”
Feb. 28, 1982, message from God the Father to Eileen George, Worcester (USA): “…There will be a great famine throughout the world. Nothing will grow. The whole world will go hungry. Everyone will lack food. The atmosphere will change and cause great calamities on earth…”
Eileen says the famine “will have something to do with the change in the seasons, a perennial season of frost and cold. There will be nothing to eat. A great scarcity of oil. No heating. War will only come later, because we will fight for oil.

12th century prophecy by St. Thomas a’Becket: “…Wars and wonders will occur until people believe in Christ, toward the end of the world.”
13th century prophecy, Abbot Werdin of Otranto: “…The Great Monarch and the Great Pope will precede the Antichrist. The nations will be at war for four years and a great part of the world will be destroyed…”
15th century, prophecy of St. Francis of Paola: “…when men abandon the use of their reason, they will become despondent. Then they will be more and more in confusion. Therefore let the princes of this world prepare themselves for the greatest scourges, which will fall upon them. But by whom? First of all the heretics and infidels, then the holy and most faithful “Bearers of the Cross” elected by the Most High, who, failing to convert the heretics by science, will make vigorous use of their weapons. Many towns and villages will be in ruins, with the death of a huge number of good and bad men.
Infidels will also fight against Christians and heretics, looting, destroying and killing most Christians. Eventually, the army … of the Bearers of the Holy Cross will move not against Christians or Christendom, but against infidels in pagan countries, and will conquer all those kingdoms with the death of a very large number of infidels. After this they will turn their victorious weapons against bad Christians and destroy all those who rebel against Jesus Christ.”
15th century, prophecy of Blessed Amedeo da Silva: “In the last days there will be great wars and bloodshed. The fury of wars will last a long time.”
Seventeenth-century prophecy, Ven. Bartholomew Holzhauser: “…The fifth period of the Church, which began around 1520 … will be a time of affliction, desolation, humiliation and poverty for the Church. Jesus Christ will purify His people by means of cruel wars, famines, scourges, epidemics, and other terrible calamities…. It is a time of defections, calamities and extermination. Those Christians who survive the sword, scourges and famine will be few…”
18th century, Father Nectou prophecy: “… When those things are fulfilled which will produce the triumph of the Church… Two factions will be formed in France that will fight each other to the death…. At that time there will be a crisis so terrible that people, frightened by the events, will believe that the end of the world has come. Blood will flow in numerous large cities.
The elements themselves will be disrupted. It will be like a small General Judgment. A great multitude of people will perish in these times of calamity, but the wicked will not prevail…. When all will be considered lost, all will be saved. This disaster will happen shortly after England’s power has begun its decline. This will be the sign. Just as when the fig tree begins to bud and produce leaves, this is a sure sign that summer is near. England for its part will experience a revolution more frightening than that of France. It will continue long enough for France to regain its strength; then the latter will help England restore peace and order.
During this revolution, which will in all probability be general and not confined to France, Paris will be destroyed in such a complete way that twenty years later, when the fathers walk over its ruins with their children, the latter will ask what place that was, to which they will reply, “My son, this in the past was a great city, which God destroyed because of its crimes.”
Paris will certainly be destroyed, but before that happens such signs and portents will be seen that all good people will be induced to flee from it.”
18th-century prophecy by Sister of the Nativity, Fougères France: “…I see in God that long before the rise of the Antichrist the world will be afflicted with many bloody wars. Peoples will rise up against peoples and nations against nations, sometimes allies, sometimes enemies, in their struggle against the same side. Armies will clash in a frightening manner and fill the earth with killing and slaughter. These domestic and foreign wars will cause enormous sacrifices, defilements, scandals and endless evils, because of the incursions that will be made into the Church…
The closer we get to the Last Judgment, the more the revolutions against the Church will decrease in duration. The kind of peace that will follow each revolution will also be shorter in duration. This is because we are approaching the End Times, and there is little time left for both the elect to do good and the wicked to do evil.”

18th-19th century, prophecy of Sister Marianne, France: “…As long as there is public prayer, nothing will happen; but the time will come when public prayer will cease. People will say: things will remain as they are. It will be then that the great calamity will happen…. Before the great combat the wicked will be the masters. They will commit all the evil in their power, but not as much as they would like, because they will not have the time. The good and faithful Catholics, being fewer in number, will be on the verge of extermination, but a blow from Heaven will save them. O power of God! O power of God! All the wicked will perish, and also many good men. O, how dreadful these calamities will be! Churches will be closed… These trials will not last long, for no one could endure them. When all seems lost, all will be saved.”
Nineteenth century, vision of Blessed Anna Catherine Emmerich: “…A pale-faced man floated slowly above the earth and, loosening the drapes that wrapped his sword, threw them over the sleeping cities, which were bound by these… Around Berlin was a red ribbon, and from there he came to Westphalia. Now the man’s sword was drawn, stripes as red as blood hung from the hilt, and the blood that dripped from it fell on Westphalia.”
Note: The Battle of Westphalia, mentioned in many prophecies, is probably alluded to here. Some of these prophecies refer to this region of Germany by the name “birch country.”
19th century, prophecy of Blessed Anna Maria Taigi, Siena: “…France will plunge into frightful anarchy. The French will have a desperate civil war in the course of which even old men will take up arms.”
Nineteenth-century prophecy, the Estatica of Tours: “…Before the war explodes again, food will be scarce and very expensive…. Revolution will explode in Italy, almost at the same time as in France…. England will also have much to suffer.
The revolution will spread to every French city. There will be great slaughter. This revolution will last only a few months but it will be terrible; blood will flow everywhere because the malice of the wicked will reach its climax. The victims will be innumerable. Paris will look like a slaughterhouse…. The wicked will be the masters for a year and a few months. In those days, France will receive no human help. It will be alone and defenseless. At this point, the French people will turn to God and implore the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Immaculate Mary. It [the French people] will eventually recognize that only He [the Lord] can bring back peace and happiness…”; “Paris will be destroyed almost entirely.”
19th century, prophecy of Brother Roch: “…Over all Europe terrible civil wars will rage. For a long time God has been patient with moral corruption…. He will destroy half of humanity.”
Nineteenth-century prophecy, Mother Mary of Jesus du Bourg: “…This is where we are; the chastisements of the Lord will fall upon us in various ways. Scourges, unrest, spilled blood. There will be in our France a frightful upheaval. However, these days will be shortened in favor of the righteous.”
Nineteenth-century prophecy, St. Mary of Jesus Crucified: “…All states will be convulsed by war and civil strife. During the darkness that will last three days, people who have given themselves to the ways of evil will perish, so that only a quarter of mankind will survive…”
May 20, 1951, message from Our Lady to Teresa Musco, Caiazzo (Caserta, Italy): “…A great war will happen. Dead and wounded there will be many. Satan will cry out his victory and that is the moment that everyone will see My Son appear on the clouds and then He will judge those who have trampled on His innocent and divine Blood. Then My Heart will triumph…”
Oct. 10, 1973, message of Our Lady to Teresa Musco, Caiazzo (Caserta, Italy): “…A new war is about to begin in the land where the Savior was born, that is, My beloved Son, and it will not stop. It seems that they make peace but it is not true, because from there the great war will be born, from there comes the great chastisement from heaven and earth…”
March 12, 1943, Our Lady’s message to Blessed Elena Aiello, Calabria, Italy: “…Here is the great scourge, the war, the atomic bomb; this will come in the morning and it will be for about three days…”
August 22, 1960, message of Our Lady to Blessed Elena Aiello, Calabria, Italy: “…the hour of God’s justice is near and it will be terrible! Tremendous scourges will overhang the world…. And if men do not see in these scourges the calls of Divine Mercy and do not return to God with a truly Christian life, another terrible war will come from East to West, and Russia with her secret weapons, will fight America, overwhelm Europe, and one will see especially the Rhine River of Germany full of corpses and blood…”

January 6, 1990, message from Our Lady to Patricia Talbot, Cuenca, Ecuador: “…Children, World War III is near. Let not your hearts be troubled, for God’s peace is with you…. Children, the time left is short, very short. Conversion must be faithful…”
Patricia relates some details that Our Lady would reveal to her about the war: “The war is near. It will be started with false peace treaties, treaties that we should not trust. Many countries should be involved in it, including: China, Romania, Russia and the United States. Initially Poland will also be involved, but when the Holy Father leaves Rome, going first to France and then to Poland, Poland will be protected … that’s why conversion now is so important.”

He is not realizing that he is about to enter a world war that can be stopped. […]. Stop this war! Pray for the Church, its Hierarchies, the validly ordained and consecrated during this time of confusion and apostasy. Do not fall into the trap of division, even with apparent good reasons. Turn your eyes to the lives of saints, such as St. Martin de Porres, St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, the former discriminated against and the latter fought by the same institution. Let their behavior in adversity be an example for you to follow…
“The Church is God’s house. It is forbidden for men to enter here with bare arms and wearing shorts. It is forbidden for women to enter wearing trousers, bare headed, with short, low-necked or sleeveless dresses.”
“Parents, correct the ways if your family, have much dialogue with your children, make time to listen to them as many homes are being lost due to lack of love, dialogue, understanding and most specially for not inviting God.
