Sacraments and Sacramentals
Jesus says: (Gesù Our Teacher, Vol. 1)
“Why do people turn more to the blessings than to the Sacraments? […] the reason is quickly explained.
The true faith practiced and lived demands sacrifice and the world is adverse to it. Men live in ignorance of the truths of the faith or they know them only partially.
The study of the truths would make them love the faith, they would enjoy it and they would sanctify themselves and, in practicing it, they would feel themselves free.
Desiring blessings is in itself a good thing: but it becomes for many a superstition.
If you talk to many, people about the Sacraments, about forgiveness of offenses, about practicing charity, they will say to you that they are things too weighty.
They prefer to run from one shrine to the other to receive exorcisms and light candles to all the Saints. They hold that they do not deserve the crosses of which they are burdened and willingly would unload them to put them on the persons whom they hold the cause of their sorrows.
I am indulgent and merciful with everyone and many times I make use even of these superstitious practices, done in good faith, to call back to the way of good.
A sound mind and sound doctrine are based on the search for God, for the faith and for his will; in the study of those teachings which, through Revelation and the Church, were communicated to men and are still being clarified and manifested by means of the Holy Spirit, who again and always will work in the Church and the world.
Making use of the sacramentals after the Sacraments is a good thing; but it must not be forgotten that while the Sacraments work by that power that comes from the Son of God who instituted them, the sacramentals are efficacious on the basis of the sanctity and faith of whoever administers them, drawing from the spiritual treasures of the Church.
The Sacraments are the pure waters that quench and cleanse. The sacramentals are the good greetings that come from a priestly heart and which can be efficacious in the measure that this heart is united and pleasing to God.”

They are, however, addressed to all those souls, who, desirous to love the Lord, seek to put into practice his teachings and to live the Christian life more perfectly. Come, Holy Spirit, send to us from Heaven a ray of your light. Come, Father of the poor, come, giver of gifts, come, light of hearts. Perfect comforter, sweet guest of the soul, sweetest relief. In toil, rest, in heat, shelter, in weeping comfort. O most blessed light, invade into the depths the hearts of your faithful. Without your strength nothing is in man, nothing is without fault. Wash what is sordid, bathe what is parched, heal what bleeds. Bend that which is stiff, warm that which is icy, straighten that which is astray. Give to your faithful who trust in you alone your Holy Gifts. Give virtue and reward, give holy death, give eternal joy. Amen.

Listen to the supplication which I making to you and accept our hearts in Yours, to be delivered and protected we, the whole world, from all evil and all sin.
