In Israel, traditionally, a person’s blood must be buried with his body. Even now in Israel, when a soldier or civilian is murdered in the street, they clean the ground and bury this cloth with the body.
John’s gospel says that the cloth that had covered Yeoshua’s head was folded and lying on the side of the stone tomb.
Recently it was discovered that the carbon-dated sample was cut from a corner of the Shroud of Turin, which was damaged and repaired by weaving cotton threads to the linen threads of the lost Shroud from the damaged area around 1400 AD.
